Isaiah 11: The Root of Jesse

The Bible contains many prophecies about the coming of a savior who would save humanity from sin and death. One such prophecy is found in Isaiah 11, which describes a future ruler who will come from the line of Jesse, the father of King David. This ruler, known as the “shoot from the stump of Jesse” (Isaiah 11:1), will be filled with the Spirit of the Lord and will judge the earth with righteousness (Isaiah 11:2-4). He will also bring peace to the world and unite all people under his reign (Isaiah 11:6-9).

Jeremiah 23:5-6: The Lord Our Righteous Savior

Another prophecy about the coming of a savior is found in Jeremiah 23:5-6, which describes a future king who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. This king will be known as the Lord Our Righteous Savior and will bring salvation to the people of Judah and Israel.

Ezekiel 24:23-24: My Servant David

The prophet Ezekiel also prophesied about a future ruler who would come from the line of David. In Ezekiel 24:23-24, God promises to place over his people one shepherd, his servant David, who will tend them and be their prince. This prophecy speaks of a future leader who will care for God’s people like a shepherd cares for his sheep.

Amos 9:11: The Restoration of David’s Kingdom

The prophet Amos also spoke of the restoration of the Davidic kingdom in Amos 9:11. He prophesied that in the future, God would raise up the fallen tent of David and rebuild its ruins. This prophecy speaks of a future time when the Davidic kingdom would be restored to its former glory.

Micah 5:2-4: The Ruler from Bethlehem

Micah 5:2-4 contains another prophecy about the coming of a savior. This prophecy speaks of a future ruler who will come from Bethlehem, the city of David. This ruler will be a shepherd who will lead his people in the strength of the Lord and bring security to the ends of the earth.
